     This beautiful antique mahogany chest of drawers was handmade in Victorian England around 1890. The flame mahogany has developed a deep, rich patina that complements the natural beauty of the wood, which is coated with a fine wax finish. The solid brass pulls contrast wonderfully with the mahogany, while the turned feet look great. Although this chest remains quite attractive, it has sustained significant wear, including various superficial scuffs and stains as well as damage to the veneer. Both sides have also developed small, cosmetic separations in the wood at the bottoms, and the top itself has warped such that the ends have raised from the sides, leaving small gaps on both sides of the chest. This chest does remain very sturdy, however, so overall condition remains good.
