This breakfront yew wood bookcase houses a drop down bar in the center. The liquor cabinet section has a mirrored back and a leather inlaid surface for mixing drinks. The rest of the bookcase is very well designed, down to the last little detail. The glass doors have etched arches and the yew wood grain on the cabinet doors is absolutely beautiful. The arched open area above the bar has fluted columns on the sides. The top is adorned with a dental moulded cornice and the entire piece sits on sturdy bracket feet connected with a shaped skirt. Each glass door houses 2 adjustable shelves. The shelf in the middle open area and all the shelves in the lower section are stationary but removable. The four drawers have dovetailed joints and swan neck drop pulls. This bookcase originated in England and was made around 1960. It comes apart into 2 pieces (top and bottom) for easier transporting. The condition of this bookcase is good with only minor wear through that would be expected of a piece of this age. This is a fully functional and aesthetically pleasing piece that would make a wonderfull addition to any home or office.
