Handmade in England during the Victorian period, this charming oak bedside cabinet would make a wonderful addition to any home. Having developed a lovely patina, the solid quartersawn (or "tiger") oak displays a remarkably rich complexion and, of course, the striking grain for which this variety of oak is prized worldwide. The detailed carvings that adorn the edges and face of the cabinet look quite lovely, while the solid brass knob contrasts wonderfully with the oak. Structurally, this cabinet remains as strong as the day it was crafted, although it has sustained some wear consistent with age, most notably around the feet on the sides. The latch that holds the door shut has also recently been replaced, and the top has developed a separation between the boards. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect structural integrity. Overall, therefore, this antique cabinet remains in very good condition.
