This Victorian era oak and mahogany cased grandfather clock was made in England around 1890 and is still in working condition today. There has been some restoration done to the works and the painted face. The painted purple flower on the face covers a repaired hole in the clock face. It is very well done and is not seen without a critical eye and the clock is keeping perfect time right now. The clock chimes on the hour and it chimes the number of hours. The oak and mahogany case has developed a wonderful patina and is in very good, sturdy condition. The top is wonderfully carved and a brass finial sits above the entire piece. The arched pendulum door is flanked by carved columns which gives the clock a very Victorian feel. Both sides of the clock as well as the bottom of the front have age separations in the wood. This is a naturally occurring phenomenon which is purely cosmetic. There is also a very small chip in the bottom left corner of the door that covers the clock face. These are very minor issues considering the age of the clock and its current working condition. Don't miss out on this lovely piece! The clock will be disassembled for shipping and we recommend you have a local professional clock restorer set it up for you to ensure it keeps proper time.
