This singer sewing machine, dating most likely between 1954-1963, was made in Campinas, Brazil. The original mahogany case remains with the machine and locks with an accompanying key; in the past, this enabled the user to carry the machine about with the handle attached to the case, but we do not recommend this action as the case gives a little when locked. There is also significant cosmetic wear on the exterior of the case as well as on the machine itself, although it appears to still function. It is missing a spool on the top but otherwise appears to retain all of its parts. The model is the 15C, while the serial number is RA092232; these numbers, along with the trademark that reads, "The Singer Manufacturing Company," allow us to both date and place this machine (the company changed its name to "The Singer Company" in 1963).
