Oak Roll Top Desk

This gorgeous antique roll top desk was crafted in England around 1920 and recently imported to our furniture store here in Atlanta, GA. Over the years, the solid oak has developed a lovely patina, so that today it displays a rich complexion and a striking grain. The simple yet elegant design looks as attractive as it is useful, with several compartments and drawers as well as a locking divided cabinet. When the fall closes, it locks by means of a spring mechanism, thereby also locking all of the drawers; two keys accompany the desk for the fall, while one key operates the cabinet. This desk also rests on casters for easy movement. When it ships, this desk will disassemble into the top, central drawer, pedestals and modesty panel. Although it remains as sturdy as ever, the desk has sustained some significant surface wear over the years, which is consistent with age; you can see this wear in the accompanying pictures in the form of wear marks and stains. Overall, therefore, this desk remains in very good condition for its age.
