This exquisitely carved oak antique secretary desk was hand-crafted in Georgian-period England around 1820. The carved, ebonized oak has developed a lovely patina over the years, which contributes to the striking appearance of this secretary desk. All of the antique brass hardware contrasts beautifully with the dark oak. The carvings on this particular secretary are rather detailed, and the arched motif carved into the fall is a unique image even for antique furniture. This antique secretary desk also offers plenty of storage space, with four exterior drawers as well as sixteen drawers and compartments in the desk section. There is very little wear to speak of beyond the normal stress marks that one might find in a Georgian-period antique, although there is a notable chip in the fall that was repaired long ago. Overall, this oak antique secretary desk is in excellent condition for a secretary of its age.
