This oak coffer, crafted in England around 1940, is a fine example of Jacobean style furniture. The distinctive shaped paneling on the top and front, the recessed panels on the sides, and the beaded edging are characteristic of Jacobean style. They also help to make this coffer a truly beautiful piece, and with a rich oak complexion and a striking grain, it would certainly make a fine addition to any furniture collection. There are a few wear marks consistent with age, particularly on one of the back feet (see photos), but otherwise this coffer and the casters it rests on remain quite sturdy. Overall, therefore, the condition of this antique style coffer is very good.
