This beautiful oak antique wine cooler was hand-crafted near the end of the Georgian Period in England around 1840 and recently restored by a third-generation cabinetmaker. The oak and yew wood crossbanding have developed a lovely patina, which enriches their gorgeous complexions and pronounced grains. Solid-brass hardware together with white escutcheons complement the wood very well. Hand-cut dovetails join the corners of the antique wine cooler, which is a very unique feature that is both beautiful and a key element to very sturdy construction. The top of this Georgian antique wine cooler opens to reveal two divided sections that span the height of the piece; the elegant drawer fronts are faux, intended to elegantly disguise this piece as a chest of drawers. The recent restoration was very successful and this antique wine cooler shows no damage, although there are some old dings and scratches that were repaired in the restoration; they are a charming feature, however, and is often mimicked by a high-quality reproduction technique known as distressing. This splendid Georgian oak antique wine cooler will continue to function beautifully for years and would be an attractive, unique way to store your wine collection!
