This spectacular antique set of six carved oak dining chairs features cane seats and a gorgeous patina. The solid oak is a medium color that will go with most other woods. The ornately carved backrests feature regal griffons at the top, barley twist columns, and carved floral decorations. The barley twist theme is also prevalent in the legs and stretchers. One of the back rests of one chair has an old repair that was well done and is hard to see if you are not looking for it. All chairs have normal wear in the form of minor dings, dents, and scratches particularly around the legs. Overall, however, the chairs are quite sturdy and in good, usable condition. The cane is strong and in good condition on all chairs. They would make a wonderful and functional addition to any home! This set was made in continental Europe around 1920. It is getting harder to find sets of six chairs like this so don't miss out! The seat height of these chairs is 17.5".
