This gorgeous walnut wine cabinet was recently English-made by hand as a reproduction of a Georgian period antique. Every aspect of the piece, from the techniques employed to the materials used, boasts the utmost in quality. The burl walnut, for instance, which was treated to an elaborate finishing process, displays a deep, lustrous complexion and a remarkably pronounced grain, while the walnut crossbanding and solid brass hardware make a particularly lovely contrast. The pulls are Regency style lion heads, while the turned columns end in sturdy bun feet such as were popular throughout the 19th century. The top of this wine cabinet opens to reveal a small bar area with two compartments for storing, perhaps, bottles in use, while the center holds a removable brass bowl for ice. The interior contains glass racks on the left and bottle racks on the right, while each door features a brass gallery that will hold in thin bottles or towels. Of course, because this wine cabinet was carefully handmade by a third-generation cabinetmaker, it is incredibly sturdy and will be sure to last for generations to come.
