This gorgeous mahogany chest of drawers was crafted in England around the year 1960 for use in the British Royal Air Force (RAF). It was later decommissioned in 1978. Today, the various woods remain as beautiful as ever, forming a lovely symphony of inlays and banding. Cathedral mahogany forms the principle wood, while a combination of rosewood, satinwood, and ebony form the inlays both around the drawers and on the top. Each of the five drawers features dovetailed joints and solid brass hardware. Meanwhile, the chest rests on sturdy shaped bracket feet. Overall, this chest is very sturdy, and the drawers continue to operate very smoothly. However, this chest has sustained some light surface wear, including various scuffs (mostly on the feet) and some wear to the finish. Overall condition is therefore very good.
