This gorgeous solid oak gate leg occasional table was crafted in England around 1920. Today, the oak remains as beautiful as ever, with a rich complexion and a pronounced quartersawn grain that benefit from the slow development of a lovely patina. The result is an exquisitely beautiful table that looks even more striking for its distinctively carved barley twist legs. The gate leg design also makes this table a flexible addition to the home or office, where it would be perfect as a side, end or hall table. Although very sturdy, this table has sustained some minor superficial wear, including various scuffs and the development of a small separation between the boards on one end of the table (see pictures). This separation is purely cosmetic, natural in solid wood pieces and does not affect structural integrity. Overall condition therefore remains very good.
