This gorgeous antique loo table was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890 and recently imported to antique furniture store here in Atlanta, GA, USA. Originally designed for the English game of loo, a game popular in the 19th century, today this loo table would still make a wonderful game table, and perhaps even a unique coffee table. The top lifts up for storage and can be removed from the pedestal by taking out the two brass pins that secure the top into the base, so this is quite a versatile little table; it even comes equipped with porcelain casters, so it rolls around quite easily. The turned pedestal and shapely legs remain as sturdy as ever, while the loo table itself remains quite beautiful. Indeed, the mahogany has developed a lovely patina over the years, the result being an incredibly rich complexion and a subtle grain that are sure to make an impression in any setting. As is normal of Victorian period furniture, this antique loo table has sustained some wear consistent with its age, including stress marks on the top as well as in the scalloped apron. Otherwise, this table remains as attractive and sturdy as ever!
