This beautiful antique mahogany dressing table was hand-crafted in England around 1910, during the Edwardian period. Like most Edwardian period furniture, this dressing table now shows a beautiful patina, which has come to enrich the distinct grain and warm, lustrous complexion of the mahogany, while distinctively Edwardian alternating bands of satinwood rosewood inlay adorn the table along the drawer fronts, mirror and counter top. The table as a whole rests on removable casters for easy movement. Each of the five drawers features hand-cut dovetails, indicating fine craftsmanship, and indeed this dressing table remains as sturdy as ever. It has sustained, however, some minor stress marks on the drawers and counter tops as well as some spotting on the mirror, and recently the hardware that holds the mirror to its supports was replaced. Otherwise, this dressing table is in great condition, particularly for an Edwardian antique.
