Carved Oak Antique Single Bookcase with Glass Door

This beautifully crafted carved antique oak bookcase or cupboard was made in continental Europe sometime around 1890. We purchased it in Holland and imported it to our antique furniture store in Atlanta. The oak has aged wonderfully and developed a beautiful patina. The hand carvings that cover this piece are extremely well done and include lion heads with brass rings, floral decorations, and geometric patterns. Both the top and bottom doors lock with included key and contain one stationary shelf. There is also a drawer for additional storage. The drawer is made with hand cut dovetails, a sign of the high quality craftsmanship that went into this bookcase. There is an age separation to the boards on one side of the bookcase (purely cosmetic) and other minor wear consistent with age such as minor stains and dings. One of the fruit carvings is missing a piece, but has been very nicely colored in. Overall this bookcase is in very good condition and is very sturdy. It comes in two pieces for easier moving. The top shelf depth is 10" and the height to the counter is 41.5".
