Antique Walnut Secretary Desk

This charming walnut secretary desk was English-made around 1940 as a reproduction of a Georgian style antique. The walnut, although significantly crackled, displays a rich complexion and a striking grain, while the brass hardware makes a wonderful contrast. The fall and drawers are also crossbanded, giving them an even more distinct appearance. Inside the fall are several compartments, a cabinet, a drawer, and a writing surface of brown leather, which has also sustained notable surface wear. Each drawer features dovetailed joints, and the shaped bracket feet remain as sturdy as they are elegant. Although this antique style secretary is significantly worn on the surface, it does remain sturdy, so overall condition is good.
