This charming antique solid-oak bookcase was hand-crafted in Victorian England around 1890. Over the last century, the European solid oak has acquired a rich patina, which enhances the striking grain and warm, lustrous complexion, producing a fine solid oak of incredible beauty. The carved cabinet door and solid-brass hardware complement the oak, while the upper glass bookcase door features elegant floral carvings. Hand carved lions head with brass rings in their mouths are located at the top corners of both sections of this bookcase. Turned columns help support the top section and leave plenty of counter space open for usage. Both doors lock with included key. The top section has two stationary glass shelves and the lower section has one wood shelf. This bookcase does come in two pieces for easier moving. The condition is good with a few exceptions that are pictured. There is a small piece of moulding missing from the right side where the top section meets the counter. The right column has a cosmetic age crack to it, but is structurally sound. Also, the lower cabinet door and a panel in the left side have cosmetic age separations. Otherwise this bookcase is in excellent condition and would be a beautiful and functional piece for any home or office. The shelves in the top are 8.25" deep.
