Hand-crafted in France over a century ago in 1890, every aspect of this solid-oak server speaks of a bygone elegance and commitment to fine craftsmanship. The wood looks especially stunning because of the slow development of a lovely patina as well as the use of tiger oak. The drawer fronts feature intricate carvings and exquisite brass pulls, and the sides were crafted with elegant recessed panels. While the upper legs are fluted, the lower legs are carved, thus diversifying the piece's strong aesthetic appeal. Other stylistic traits include a gorgeous marble top (which appears to be relatively new), decorative carvings on the back legs, and carved moulding. The drawers, one of which is divided into three felt-lined compartments, feature hand-cut dovetailed joints and provide plenty of storage space, together with the three-tiered design making this piece quite useful. There are a few scratches, one of the lion heads has lost its pull, one of the side panels is missing a small piece of moulding, and the wood has collected minor stains. Nevertheless, condition remains excellent, and this server is sure to last for generations--so don't miss your chance to own a fantastic French antique today!
