This bookcase gives a wonderful demonstration of the attractive qualities of yew wood. The brush stroke like contrasts of color and birds eye knots are extremely beautiful. This particular breakfront bookcase was made in England around 1980, it still has the original quality inspection sticker on the back. Each of the three glass doors features a 13 pane astragal glazed pattern that is quite difficult to make. There are three adjustable shelves in each top section. Below the glass doors are three drawers and below that are three cabinet doors. These cabinet doors display the yew wood most prominently and really help to made this quite an exquisite piece. The cabinets each house one removable shelf. The doors all lock with included key. The drawers feature swan neck drop pulls and dovetailed drawer joints. The entire piece sits on a sturdy plinth base and is in very good overall condition with only minor wear you would expect from a bookcase of this age. This bookcase comes in two sections (top and bottom) for easier transporting.
