This antique hand carved arm chair was made in England around 1880 during the Victorian period. The carvings that decorate this chair are very intricate and the chair itself is extremely sturdy and well made. This arm chair would make a perfect accent chair in just about any room. The turned legs are supported but a stretcher around all sides. This chair has wear in the form of minor surface scratches and nicks that you would expect from a piece of this age. Both the wood seat and the carved back panel have an age separation. This purely cosmetic phenomenon occurs when the solid oak wood shrinks slightly and you see a small gap where two pieces of wood were joined. There are no broken or repaired places to this chair. It is extremely sturdy and has a wonderful patina that would make a perfect addition to any room.
