This stunning bureau (also referred to as a butlers desk) is a fine Jacobean style desk that was made in England around 1920. This bureau has a beautiful patina to it and is in splendid condition. The fall opens up to reveal a number of cubbies, small drawers, and a brown leather writing surface. This brown leather has sustained some minor wear but nothing that detracts from the piece. The two large drawers and the fall all lock with an included key. The drawers also feature hand cut dovetailed joints and brass tear drop shaped pulls. Supporting this bureau are beautiful barley twist legs and stretchers. This bureau is quite sturdy and in very good condition with very little wear to it.
