This remarkably beautiful mahogany credenza was originally crafted in England around 1880. Recently, a third-generation cabinetmaker restored the piece to near-perfect condition, with the result that the deep, lustrous complexion and pronounced grain of the mahogany now look more lovely than ever. The distinctive brass hardware, whose square design characterizes the distinct military or campaign style, contrasts beautifully with the mahogany, producing a profoundly appealing piece. With a total of nine drawers (each featuring hand-cut dovetails) and a large cabinet, this credenza also contains plenty of storage space. Structural integrity remains as firm and steady as ever, although some minor wear marks and stains remain; the sides have also developed superficial separations in the wood. Overall condition is therefore excellent.
