Antique English grandfather clocks always seem impressive and this beauty is no exception. A fine mahogany case surrounds a beautifully painted dial. The mahogany is accented with subtle rosewood crossbandings in just the right places. This clock is currently running in our shop and keeping perfect time. The chimes sound on the hour only and chime the number of hours. It is an eight day movement. We have a key crank and the key for the case door. The most impressive part of this clock is the meticulously painted dial that has stayed in beautiful condition since the clocks creation around 1890. The dial has the name T. Pell and Leeds painted on it (although they are getting a little hard to read). The minute hand seems to have the very tip of it missing. You will also see several places on the clock face where the paint has been chipped away, please be sure to examine the pictures to see them. There is some slight crackling to the mahogany in some small places. These are only cosmetic issues and the clock remains a sturdy and working piece that will add beauty and elegance to your home or office for years to come. We recommend you have a professional clock repairman set up the clock when you receive it to ensure proper running.
