This charming antique oak sideboard was crafted in Leeds, England by Brown & Shaw around 1950 in a Jacobean style. Today, the quartersawn oak remains quite beautiful, with a rich complexion and a pronounced grain that are sure to grow more beautiful with age. The distinctive cabinet door paneling also looks great, as do the brass pulls, which contrast wonderfully with the oak. the turned baluster legs are as sturdy as they are elegant. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails, indicating fine quality, and although this sideboard remains very sturdy, it has sustained a general assortment of superficial scuffs, and the left lock operates with some difficulty. The drawer pulls also appear to have been replaced at some point. Overall condition therefore remains very good.
