This gorgeous hanging corner cabinet was handmade in Georgian England around 1800 and recently imported to our furniture store here in Atlanta, GA. Over the years, the flame mahogany has developed a lovely patina, so that now it displays a remarkably rich complexion and a striking grain. The result is a stunning corner cabinet that would look great in any setting. The bow front shape is especially elegant, while the drawer fronts are banded by accentual crossbanding. The paneled doors lock with an accompanying key, which is unusual, given the cabinet's great age; what's more, the lock operates incredibly smoothly, which is one among many indicators that this cabinet is of the highest quality. Another such iindicator is the single drawer (the other two are faux fronts), which features hand-cut dovetailed joints--and, of course, the greatest indicator of quality is the combination of great age and quality that this cabinet boasts. Indeed, it remains quite sturdy and has sustained very little superficial wear for a 200-year-old cabinet, although to be certain it has sustained some wear (see pics). Overall, therefore, the condition of this Georgian corner cabinet is excellent.
