This unusual antique Sutherland table was English-made around 1920 from solid quartersawn oak. The wood looks quite exquisite, with a deep, lustrous complexion and a pronounced grain that have grown more lovely over the years with the development of a rich patina. The thin, compact shape of the table itself is quite appealing, making it a fine choice as a flexible side, end, or hall table. the ends of the table feature beaded moulding, while the barley twist gate legs make beautiful supports for the swinging drop leaves. There is very little wear to speak of, particularly for a table that is nearly a century old, although there are a few superficial wear marks here and there (see pictures). Otherwise, the structure of this table remains quite impressive and overall condition is very good.
