This remarkable antique oak pub table was crafted in England around 1920. Today, the oak remains as beautiful as ever, particularly with the development of a rich patina, which has helped to more fully develop the wood's deep, lustrous complexion and pronounced tiger oak grain. This particular pub table is unique, however, not only because of its elegant barley twist legs, but also because of the distinct grooves along the skirt. The result is a table whose beauty is matched only by a skillful combination of sturdiness and utility: two leaves pull out to expand the length of the table from 30" to 51". Although this table is nearly a century old, it has sustained a remarkably minimal level of wear, mainly in the form of superficial marks, but there is an old (and small) chip in the skirt, which is visible in a few of the pictures accompanying this listing at the point where the right leaf joins the inner section of the skirt. Overall condition therefore remains very good, and this antique pub table would make a fine addition to any furniture collection.
