This beautiful mahogany desk (or library table as some would call it) was made in the Edwardian style around 1940 in England. The mahogany is complemented by satin wood inlays around the top and drawer fronts, all of which is subtly contrasted by the gold tooled black leather top. Leather makes a wonderful writing surface, far superior to wood, metal, or glass. The two drawers are constructed with hand-cut dovetails, open and close very smoothly, and have brass plate back pulls. The turned legs lift the desk up giving you 25" of clearance from the floor to the bottom of the desk. There is the normal wear on the desk you would expect from a piece of this age, mostly in the form of small dings here and there. Overall the desk is very sturdy and in very good condition. It will serve your home for generations to come!
