This elegant mahogany writing desk was crafted in Edwardian England around 1910. An expert craftsmen recently restored the desk with excellent results. The mahogany remains as beautiful as ever, with a rich complexion and a striking grain. Brass pulls contrast beautifully with the wood, while a combination of rosewood, satinwood, and ebony inlays adorn the drawer fronts. The four sturdy, square-tapered legs end in brass casters for easy movement, and each drawer features hand-cut dovetails. The writing surface is inlaid with rich green leather, which is bordered by hand-worked gold tooling. Although this desk is very sturdy, it has sustained some superficial wear, including one notable spot near the top right corner. Overall condition is therefore very good.
