This wonderful mahogany armoire was hand-crafted in England around 1910, and since then has come to acquire a lovely patina. The piece boasts two beveled mirrors--with very slight spotting in places--four drawers with hand-cut dovetailed drawer joints, brass hardware, two hanging compartments with shelves, and a large center interior shelf compartment housed behind an astragal glass door. Each section locks with the accompanying original key. Splendid satinwood inlay accentuates the natural beauty of the aging mahogany grain--on the crowing section, the inlay consists of alternating mahogany and satinwood, and the effect adds a wonderful contrast to the rest of the piece. Solid paneling reinforces the strong mahogany wood, and supporting the base is a sturdy plinth base. Condition remains very good, with minor scuffs around the door bottoms and lower moulding; there is also some very minor, inconspicuous spotting on the mirrors--structural integrity is excellent. This large hand-made mahogany armoire offers charm and utility scarcely known in today's mass-manufactured world, and would certainly make a fine addition to any home!
