This charming antique music stool was handmade in Edwardian England around 1900. Over the years, the mahogany has developed a lovely patina, so that it now displays a rich complexion and a striking grain. The upholstery, which houses a comfortable cushion, contrasts beautifully with the mahogany, as does the single brass teardrop pull. This pull, which appears to have been replaced, operates a compartment that opens to reveal a place for what must have customarily been sheet music, although it would also make a great place to store magazines or other items. Structurally, this stool remains as sturdy as ever, although it has sustained some surface wear consistent with age, mainly in the form of small wear marks (see pictures). Overall, therefore, this antique stool remains in very good condition.
